IIM Ahmedabad has increased qualifying CAT cut off for MBA admission. Candidates planning to appear for CAT 2025 must know that the minimum score required for IIM Ahmedabad PI shortlisting is 95 percentile.
IIM Ahmedabad has released the admission criteria for MBA 2026 batch. This year, the institute has increased the minimum CAT percentile score required for PI shortlisting. The minimum CAT 2025 cutoff required to be eligible for IIM Ahmedabad PI shortlisting is 95 percentile. Till last year, the minimum qualifying CAT cut off was 80 percentile.
While for General category, the overall qualifying CAT cut off is 95 percentile, the same for PwD candidates is 85 percentile. However, the weightage of CAT score in final selection is only 25 %. Major weightage of 60% is given to WAT-PI. The remaining weightage of 15% is allotted to Application Rating (AR).
IIM Ahmedabad admission criteria 2026 states, the selection of candidates will be done in two stages – WAT/PI and Final selection.

Commonly asked questions
CAT cut off is prepared by all accepting colleges individually. There is no one authorized body to do so. Even the IIMs determine their admission cut offs separately.
To get into IIM Ahmedabad, students have to check the eligibility first. Eligible students can then apply online. The institute accepts students on an entrance basis for all the courses. Students must get an exceptional score in CAT/ other accepted exams depending on the programme. As IIM-A is the top management institute of the country, the cutoffs are equally high.
Entrance exam is followed by other selection rounds including GD-PI & AWT. Selected students have to pay the admission fees and report at the institute to complete the process.
As per the details collated from unofficial sources, the total tuition fee for the PGP and PGP FABM course for the 2024-26 batch is INR 18.3 Lacs (inclusive of all taxes). However, the aforementioned fee is only indicative considering it is sourced from unofficial sources. However, as per the official website, the over MBA programme fee is inclusive of tuition fee, course materials fee, student’s stay and food during campus visits and other service facilities, such as library, etc. Students can also pay this programme fee in installments. The institute shares the fee structure along with the admission offer. For the ease of the students, IIM-A also has tie-ups with multiple banks to offer collateral-free education loans.
CAT 2025 exam is scheduled on November 30, 2025. Registration process for the same is underway and the last date to apply for CAT 2025 is September 13, 2025. IIM Ahmedabad will release the WAT-PI shortlist in the first week of January 2026 after the announcement of CAT 2025 result. Candidates who shall have selected IIM Ahmedabad in the CAT 2025 application form will be eligible for WAT-PI shortlisting.
