IIM Rohtak confers degrees to 480 students at its 9th & 10th convocation in the presence of Union Edu Minister
The IIM Rohtak 9th and 10th convocation ceremony was garnered by the presence of the Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. The minister attended the Convocation ceremony as the Chief Guest of the event.
IIM Rohtak Convocation 2019-21: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak hosted its 9th and 10th Annual Convocation for the Batch of 2019-21 today, i.e. April 19, 2021. Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, the premier management institute conducted the ceremony via virtual mode. The IIM Rohtak 9th and 10th convocation ceremony was garnered by the presence of the Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. The minister attended the Convocation ceremony as the Chief Guest of the event. While interacting with the students, the Union Education Minister said, “Convocation is a stage in the life of students when they move towards taking a big decision. They have to choose a goal & dedicate themselves to this goal.” IIM Rohtak conferred as many as 480 students from various different courses in the Convocation ceremony of the Batch of 2019-21. A total of 480 students from the MBA programme and 12 students from the doctoral program attended the convocation ceremony.
Expressing his happiness while talking about the achievement of the management institute, the Union Minister expressed said, “Despite its establishment in 2009 it has achieved a lot in a short period of time. The number of students in the institute has increased from 300 to 1500 & the no of courses taught from 2 to 8.” The minister not only congratulated the students but also lauded the efforts made by the institute during the COVID-19 crisis. Faculty members & researchers focused on important topics & submitted various research papers on agricultural procurement, migrant labour, mixed learning & financial markets. According to the official press release published by the institute, "In 2020, the institute scaled up with nearly 70% of students being female, which is a remarkable achievement. The minister said that IIM Rohtak’s work is a vital step in realising the Prime Minister’s vision of the “Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao” mission. Further, Honorable Minister commended the efforts of IIM Rohtak in expanding its programs, research, and policy work. He further added, "I congratulate the IIM Rohtak for opening up a new campus in Gurugram, new programs, and empowering women in management education in the last few years."
The graduating students of Batch 2019-21 also received congratulatory wishes from the Indian Institute of Management via their official Twitter handle, the tweet reads, “On the occasion of the Convocation ceremony, IIM Rohtak wishes the Batch of 2021 all the best and hopes that they will bring pride and glory to the institute as alumni.”
"IIM Rohtak is currently amongst the largest management institute in the country and will have nearly 1500 students enrolled in long-duration programs. Institute administration informed about the grand future plans regarding institute expansion in terms of new programs and new campus. The institute has already completed the final placement process for the graduating batches with 100% success. This has been achieved consecutively for the fourth year now. The institute has seen the participation of more than 100 companies for recruitment even during COVID times," the press release said.
