Candidates interested in IISC admissions for MTech in Quantum Technology must go through the eligibility criteria before applying.

IISc Admission 2021: Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, commenced the admission application process for MTech in Quantum Technology under its IISc Quantum Technology Initiative (IQTI). The last date for submission of applications at admissions.iisc.ac.in is March 31. Candidates interested in IISC admissions 2021 for MTech in Quantum Technology must go through the eligibility criteria before applying. The applicants are required to have a BE, BTech or equivalent degree in any engineering discipline, or four-year BS, MSc or equivalent degree in any science discipline, along with a valid score of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and a strong mathematical background.

According to the official statement released by the institute, IISC will conduct the selection process based on GATE score (70 per cent weightage) and a personal interview (30 per cent weightage). IISC department of Instrumentation and Applied Physics will be hosting the programme. The proposed intake is 20 students.

About IISC MTech in Quantum Technology

The four-semester programme with 16 credits in each semester, IISc’s MTech in Quantum Technology will commence in August 2021. The official statement released by the institute regarding the programme reads, “The program will train students in quantum technology, for both advanced research and advanced industry. The elective part of the program will equip students to acquire training in allied technology areas as well. The Entrepreneurship seminar will encourage students to initiate start-ups in the field and help build a sustainable ecosystem.”

Candidates can apply for IISC Mtech in Quantum Technology following the steps given below:

Step 1: Go to the admission portal of IISc, https://iisc.ac.in/admissions/

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the ‘apply online’ tab

Step 3: The link will be redirected to a new window

Step 4: Select admissions 2021 and click on apply to PG programme.

Step 5: Click on the registration tab

Step 6: Enter required details in the form

Step 7: Verify and submit the form
