IIT Gandhinagar PhD Programme: Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have at least 5.5. CPI marks or 55% marks in BTech/MTech/MSc/MA or equivalent degree in appropriate branches. The mentioned eligibility criteria is minimum at the institute level.

During shortlisting, cut off levels may go higher under disciplines giving relative consideration to the answers given by the candidates in the application form. As per the norms, candidates belonging to SC/EWS/ST/PD categories would be eligible for relaxations.

Admission is offered on the basis of candidate’s performance in the interview along with a written test. Based on the academic records, statement of purposes, etc. a limited number of candidates will be invited for the written test and interview. However, the final selection will be completely based on academic record, written test, and interview.

Candidates are not required to send any hard-copy of the application form. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the programme on the official website of IIT Gandhinagar PhD admissions i.e. iitgn.ac.in/admissions/phd following the steps mentioned below:

Step 2: Scroll down and click on ‘apply’

Step 3: Select from ‘National PG or International PG’

Step 4: Login using your registered credentials

Step 5: New users need to register before starting with the application process

Step 6: Click on the application form

Step 7: Fill in the necessary details and attach the required documents

Step 8: Make payment and submit

The last date to submit the application form is February 12, 2020. The shortlisted candidates will be announced on February 19. The dates for the written test and interview will be March 4 to March 6. The application fee for the programme is Rs 100 for SC/ST/PD category candidates and Rs 200 for others.
