IIT-Guwahati PhD Admissions 2020: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G) invites application for its PhD programme 2020. According to the official reports, IIT-G commenced the process of selecting candidates for PhD programme for the 2020 session. Interested candidates must note that the institute started accepting applications online from October 20 and the process will continue up to November 10. Candidates who want to apply for more than one department/centre must note that they can apply with the same registration. Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, applicants are required to submit the applications online.

IIT Guwahati posted a tweet via its official handle to inform about its PhD programme for the 2020 session. PhD aspirants can check the tweet below:

In order to register and apply for IIT-Guwahati PhD programme 2020 candidates are advised to go through the registration link, 'https://www.iitg.ac.in/acad/phddec2020/.' Earlier, for attending PhD interview, the Regular Category candidates used to be provided reimbursement of travel expenses at the rate of to-and-fro sleeper class railway fare or equivalent (as per IIT Guwahati's travel reimbursement rules). However, this is not applicable this time as all the interviews are to be held online because of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the official notice, "Candidates still to appear in their qualifying degree examinations may also apply, provided they appear in all their qualifying degree examinations and complete all requirements for their degrees before 15-07-2020 (to be revised looking at the situation resulted out of the COVID-19 pandemic). If selected, such candidates shall be admitted provisionally, and they will have to furnish the results of their qualifying degree examinations latest by 23-08-2020ย (to be revised looking at the situation resulted out of the COVID-19 pandemic). Further, they must fulfil the minimum requirements of marks/CPI, and other conditions like valid GATE score/CEED score/NET or INSPIRE certificate (as may be applicable) etc., as mentioned under eligibility criteria for respective programmes. Failure to fulfil any of these requirements shall automatically result in cancellation of admission."
