However, this year more students from the MA programme got placed compared to last year.

Kumar said that because of the COVID pandemic, there have been different kinds of job profiles in demand. But many of the sectors are giving β€˜work from home’ based assignments. β€œThe increased popularity of online tools can be collective reasons for an increase in salary packages,” he added.

β€œStudents are placed in various profiles such as IT/software, finance, analyst, core engineering as well as design. Further, two PSUs have hired students this year. The maximum offers were made from the IT/software sector and the highest package offered is Rs 70 lakh per annum. While students from the computer science and engineering branch got the highest number of offers, it was followed by electronics and communication engineering, mathematics and computing, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.

Moreover, 260 students got internship offers. The maximum stipend for the internship has been recorded at Rs 2 lakh per annum.
