IIT ISM Placements 2020: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad witnessed the placement boom despite the economic slowdown due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation. According to the official reports, IIT ISM Dhanbad Placement 2020 got the highest number of students selected by national and international companies in the last three years. According to IIT ISM Career Development Center (CDC), online placement at IIT ISM began on Monday night (12 AM), i.e. on December 7 and went on until Thursday at 11 am, i.e. December 11. Approximately, 188 students were recruited by 45 national and foreign companies.
Different companies already selected one hundred students under the Pre-Placement Offer (PPO). Considering the risks involved during the pandemic, IIT ISM has been closed since March 22. The institute conducted the placement process virtually. Companies made selections from campus online while students were sitting in their homes. Officials of CDC claimed that Yash Kumar Soni of IIT ISM has so far received the highest annual package of INR 48.38 lakh in Jharkhand and Bihar in three days of campus selection. The Japanese company Linkedwiz INC selected Yash Kumar Soni, a computer science engineer.

IIT ISM senior official said that despite a lockdown in 2020, the selection of 188 candidates on campus is the highest-ranking IIT ISM in the last three years in two days.
In 2019, a total of 116 candidates were selected for the first two days of campus selection at IIT ISM, while in 2018, 73 candidates were selected by companies in the first two days. The official also added that three foreign companies, including Linkwiz INC of Japan, have so far selected seven students from the institution in two days, starting at 12 am on Monday.
The reports suggest that 45 companies are participating in the investment drive and all of them showed a great interest in computer science engineers. Until now, 56 students, including Yash Kumar Soni, have been selected from this stream, followed by the Petroleum Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Departments, with 15 and 12 candidates, respectively.
