Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee will celebrate its 25th Convocation on September 5, 2025. IIT Roorkee Convocation 2025 will also be live streamed on IIT Roorkee’s official YouTube channel youtube.com/@IITRoorkeeOfficial. Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences and Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy, and Department of Space, will be Chief Guest. Event will be presided over by Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Chairman of Board of Governors. In the second session, Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India, will serve as the Chief Guest for the Award Ceremony.
Prof. (Dr.) Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, IAS (Retd.), Former Chairperson, NCVET, Government of India, and Former Additional Chief Secretary, Punjab, will grace the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Ahead of the event, IIT Roorkee hosted a press conference chaired by Prof. K.K. Pant, Director, along with Prof. Udai Pratap Singh, Deputy Director, and Prof. N.K. Navani, Dean of Academic Affairs. On the occasion, Prof. Pant unveiled a promotional video for the Convocation, showcasing event highlights, the institute’s milestones, and the achievements of its students.

To get admission in IIT Roorkee, students have to check the eligibility first. Eligible students can then apply online. The institute selects students on an entrance basis. Students have to submit scores of JEE/ IIT JAM/ GATE, etc. and go through counselling process. Selected students have to pay the admission fees to complete the process.
Yes, students can get admission in IIT Roorkee without JEE scores. But, this is possible for non-BTech courses, such as MSc, MBA, M.Arch, BArch, etc. If students are seeking BTech admission, then JEE scores are mandatory.
IIT Roorkee offers BTech specialisations on the basis of JEE Advanced scores. The cutoff depends on a few factors such as category and gender. Sharing information about the graduating class, Prof. Navani, Dean of Academic Affairs, IIT Roorkee, said, “This year, 2,614 students will be awarded degrees, comprising 1,267 undergraduates, 847 postgraduates, and 500 PhD scholars (including joint and dual degrees). Notably, among them are 602 female graduates, including 248 undergraduates, 176 postgraduates, and 178 PhD scholars. Each graduate stands as a testament to IIT Roorkee’s enduring legacy of knowledge, innovation, and societal impact.”
