IIT Roorkee Convocation 2026: Institute Awards 2,701 Degrees Over Two Days

In IIT Roorkee Convocation 2026, 1,277 undergraduate students received degrees, highlighting academic excellence, innovation and achievements across various disciplines.

IIT Roorkee Convocation 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee conducted IIT Convocation 2026 over two days by celebrating academic achievements of its undergraduate students. A total of 1,277 undergraduate students were awarded degrees on first day of  IIT Roorkee Convocation 2026.

The ceremony was attended by Ajit Kumar Doval, KC, National Security Advisor of India, who was the Chief Guest and delivered the Convocation Address. General N. S. Raja Subramani, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, Chief of Defence Staff of India and Secretary, Department of Military Affairs, attended as the Guest of Honour. Adv. Harish Salve, former Solicitor General of India and Chairman of the Board of Governors, IIT Roorkee, presided over ceremony.

IIT Roorkee Convocation 2026: Undergraduate Degrees

On day 1 IITR convocation focused on undergraduate students from various academic programmes. The degrees awarded included B.Arch, B.Tech, Integrated M.Tech, Integrated M.Sc., IDD, BS-MS and B.S. programmes. As per official degree details, 1,001 male and 276 female students received undergraduate degrees. IIT Roorkee also recognised outstanding academic performance through its medals and awards. IIT Roorkee conferred its highest-ever number of degrees, 2,701, during two-day Convocation 2026. The institute also awarded BS-MS degree for first time under its five-year Dual Degree Programme. IIT Roorkee convocation also highlights institute's focus on research and innovation.
