IIMA ranked as the Best Management Institute by NIRF for the 6th consecutive year. The NIRF provides a methodology to assess and rank higher education institutions across the country. It is based on the following broad parameters for evaluation: ‘Teaching, Learning and Resources’, ‘Research and Professional Practices’, ‘Graduation Outcomes’,

IIM Ahmedabad has once again been ranked as Best Management Institute in country by NIRF for 6th consecutive year.

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has once again retained top spot in NIRF Rankings 2025 in the MBA category, for sixth consecutive year.

Speaking on this achievement, Prof. Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIMA, mentioned, “At IIMA, we remain committed to nurturing management leaders and innovators who can address the challenges of a rapidly changing world. It is a matter of great pride for us to be recognised as the best management institute in India for the sixth consecutive year by the Ministry of Education’s NIRF 2025 rankings. This achievement also reflects the unwavering commitment of our faculty, students, and alumni towards academic excellence, impactful research, and meaningful contributions to society. Our strong focus on research and innovation continues to shape new ideas and solutions that influence both academia and industry, while reinforcing IIMA’s role as a thought leader in management education.”

NIRF Rankings ranks higher education institutions across the country under several categories, with 17 categories this year. NIRF Rankings is based on the following broad parameters: ‘Teaching, Learning and Resources’, ‘Research and Professional Practices’, ‘Graduation Outcomes’, ‘Outreach and Inclusivity’, and ‘Perception’.

Q:   In how many cities is CAT exam held?
A: 

CAT exam is held in about 170 cities across India. Candidates can choose up to six cities as their preferred test location. The list of test cities for CAT is available in application form. Candidates should choose the test city carefully as the request to change the test city later may or may not be accepted due to non-availability of seats at the centres in that particular city. Given below are the cities where CAT exam is usually held.

 

Q:   How many times is CAT exam conducted?
A: 

CAT exam conducted only once a year in the month of November. It is conducted in three shifts on a single day.

Q:   How is PGPX different from other programmes at IIMA?
A: 

While all the courses at IIMA are full-time and residential, the PGPX is a one-year programme while PGP is for two years. The PGPX orientation is to give a general management perspective to a management executive, whereas the PGP is focused on Functional and Operational Management. On successful completion, students are given a Master of Business Administration degree.
