Central University has announced that it will resume offline classes for all students except for the first-year students from July 18, 2022. The classes for first-year students will commence on August 1.
Jamia Millia Islamia resumes offline classes, records over 70% attendance on Day 1
Jamia Millia Islamia has announced that more than 70 per cent of attendance was recorded on the first day of the academic session 2022-23. Central University has announced that it will resume offline classes for all students except for the first-year students from July 18, 2022. The classes for first-year students will commence on August 1. Meanwhile, Jamia Millia Islamia Senior Secondary School, too, has began offline classes, where more than 90 per cent of attendance was registered on the very first day.
Ahmad Azeem, Public Relations Officer, JMI, said that "students were quite enthusiastic on their first day at the university as many were attending classes online mode till now due to the Covid-19 restrictions."
JMI Vice Chancellor Professor Najma Akhtar also looked round the University campus if the arrangements are properly done to welcome students back to offline classes. "Several teams from the office of the chief proctor were present on the campus to assist students to ensure smooth functioning," the PRO said.
The varsity had resumed the offline classes for the final year postgraduate and final year, undergraduate students, in March. While physical classes were resumed for final year students, the first and second-year undergraduate students and first-year post-graduate students have been attending classes online until now.
In July first-week, Jamia Millia Islamia issued the academic calendar for 2022-23 session for first-year UG, PG Courses. The offline classes for the final-year postgraduate student began on March 2, and for final-year undergraduate students resumed in mid-March. On March 2, three dry canteens at the varsity were also opened with the permission of the registrar.
