JMI to host TEDxJMI 2022 different lenses on March 27

TEDxJMI is going to be a one-of-a-kind event with Bravehearts from different walks of life, who will gather under one roof to spark a chain of ideas, and futuristic visions.

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is organizing TEDxJMI on the theme “Different Lenses” on March 27, 2022. The breakthrough event will be organized under the aegis of the office of Dean, Students’ Welfare (DSW) and faculty advisors.The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar will inaugurate the event and she will be the inaugural TEDxJMI speaker. Eminent speakers from varied background and expertise will share their ideas.

TEDxJMI is going to be a one-of-a-kind event with Bravehearts from different walks of life, who will gather under one roof to spark a chain of ideas, and futuristic visions. The theme “Different Lenses” emphasizes that it is imperative to look beyond our perspective and appreciate the diversities that we live in.

The event will be graced by eminent personalities from different walks of life and attended by staff, students and a larger audience on YouTube (The event will also be streamlined on Youtube)

Earlier, Najma Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), was named for Padma Shri by the Government of India. Padma Awards - one of the highest civilian Awards of the country, are conferred in three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The Awards are given in various disciplines/ fields of activities, viz.- art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc. ‘Padma Vibhushan’ is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service; ‘Padma Bhushan’ for distinguished service of high order and ‘Padma Shri’ for distinguished service in any field. The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year.
