The Kerala University of Health Sciences is mulling to examine the complaints made by students over the question paper of the first-year MBBS exam. Students who appeared for the MBBS exam can expect relaxation in evaluation. According to the reports, Kerala University Vice-chancellor Dr Mohan Kunnummal has informed that giving relaxation in the evaluation will be considered once the board of studies and examination board complete examining the question paper and sample answer sheets.

Reports suggest that numerous complaints were filed on the question paper of the Anatomy and Physiology examinations for MBBS first-year students which were held on March 15 and 17. After filing the complaints, many students started demanding the conduction of re-examinations or relaxation should be given in the evaluation.

At present, the authority has revised the MBBS syllabus. As most of the subjects are taught based on treatment, the syllabus and mode of examination were modified. The university will assess whether the students are satisfied with the modifications, the VC said.

Meanwhile, universities across the country are closing due to the surge in COVID-19 cases. Educational institutions are shifting the teaching-learning process back to the virtual mode and are opting for online examination once again following precautionary laid down by the government in order to contain the virus spread.
