SPPU Backlog Exams 2020: Approximately 31,239 students appeared for the online examinations for backlog subjects conducted by the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) administration on Tuesday, December 9, 2020. Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, it is for the first time that exams are being conducted in an online proctored manner, for which 1.7 lakh students have registered. SPPU also offered an online mock test to students on December 3, i.e. before the online exam, to ensure there are no hiccups in the actual examinations.

According to the director of examination and evaluation, Mahesh Kakade, there were no major complaints from students regarding the exam. The varsity is conducting the backlog exams for first to final year students from December 8 to 23. Students who wish to appear for improvement of their marks in a particular subject are also appearing for the SPPU Performance Improvement Examination 2020, which will be conducted along with the backlog exams. The one-hour exam is in MCQ format with 60 questions.

In order to avoid unfair practices during exams, students are directed to keep their front mobile or laptop camera turned on during the exams. Access to other browser tabs or windows would be closed and a student would get a maximum of 20 warnings. Meanwhile, the University is supposed to revise 3,000 marksheets.  Even after publishing revised marksheets for 6,000 students, the university administration continues to get complaints from students about revision of marks. The examination department has now committed to publishing revised marksheets for another 3,000 students.
