Osmania University final year exams 2020 for UG, PG courses to begin from tomorrow

Osmania University will conduct the final year exams for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students from September 16 onwards. Read further to know more.

Osmania University has announced that it will conduct the final semester exams for various Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses from September 16 onwards. The Osmania University will hold the final year exams in offline mode. Around 2.50 lakh students are expected to appear for final year exams for degree and professional courses at over 300 centers across the state.

Earlier, the examination was scheduled to start from today; i.e September 15, but now has been delayed by a day. The varsity has also decided to promote all the intermediate students to the next semester without examinations and hold the backlog exams along with the final year examinations. Telangana State Council of Higher Education, TSCHE has granted permission to students to appear for the examination at their parent college.

While speaking to a media house, Professor Sriram Venkatesh, Controller of Examination, OU said, “We are conducting the examination in a staggered manner. BE students of a few branches will appear for examination from 10 am to 12 pm. and others will appear from 3 pm to 5 pm. Only one student will be allowed to sit on one seat and social distancing will be maintained as per the University Grants Commission, UGC guidelines.”

Osmania University does not have any separate rooms for students having symptoms of COVID19 in exam centers. But the University will give another chance to appear for final semester exams in October. "The examination will be conducted as a one-time measure due to this pandemic," Professor Venkatesh said.

Meanwhile, Osmania University has released an official notice on September 4 stating that all regular students belonging to intermediate semesters/ years of the academic year 2019-2020 will be promoted to next semester/ year. However, these students will have to clear the exams, including the backlogs whenever the examinations are held to finally complete the course.
