Savitribai Pule Pune University (SPPU) would be conducting pre-final year and first-year external students backlog exams in December 2020 according to an official notification released by the University. The exams for students opting for class improvement programme and non-final year would be conducted from December 3 to 16, 2020. According to the official reports, Savitribai Phule Pune University would be conducting the allowed to keep terms, ATKT or backlog exams through online proctored technology. Students would be monitored using an online monitoring system and live video streaming source. The reports also suggest that the varsity would be able to control every student’s movement to ensure the examination’s credibility and authenticity.

According to the official data released by the University, around 61,501 students failed in Engineering exam, 1109 students failed in Law faculty, 6753 students have failed in management stream and 72 in MMS exam. As many as 70, 291 students have to appear in the backlog exams this year.

The varsity would be releasing the marks of the exams as released by the colleges on their official websites by November 30, 2020. This year the backlog practical exams for the odd semester for the students were to be conducted in April but were cancelled due to the pandemic outbreak.  A total of 2 lakh 29 thousand students appeared in the exams.

According to the statement released by Nitin Karmalkar, “during the examination for the final-year students, we realized that outstation students opted for online examination. Hence, this time, there will be only an online examination. Those who have a problem with the network or lack gadgets would be given an opportunity to visit the nearest examination centre to appear for the exam in the online mode.”
