As first semester examinations have been delayed, the SPPU administration took this decision to ensure the syllabus of future courses was not affected. The outbreak of the novel coronavirus followed by the nationwide lockdown imposed in order to contain the virus already led to the delay in the commencement of the academic year 2020-21.

From July-August SPPU conducted online classes for all the semesters. It is necessary to have a 90 day period of classes per semester. The varsities says that conducting virtual classes and maintaining the same was difficult due to various issues such as connectivity and lack of internet access to the students.

Meanwhile, SPPU also announced that it will announce the results for the practical examinations only after the second semester. Earlier, the varsity said that it will be conducting the first-semester examination from April 11, which includes practical examinations too.
