The Savitribai Phule Pune University has said that it is planning to conduct the SPPU Exams 2020 backlog exams from November 25 onwards. The examination will be conducted by the SPPU for the non-final year students in a proctored manner in online mode.

The varsity has said that it will give an option to students to opt for either online or offline mode for the exam. Students would also get an option of appearing for the examination from home. Vice-Chancellor Nitin Karmalkar while speaking to a media house said, “The dates of the exam will be communicated. The university has some 50,000 students who have backlogs and would appear for these examinations.”

The varsity has also decided to allow students who had applied for the class improvement scheme to appear for the exam along with the backlog examinees. A window to apply for the improvement scheme was opened and about 18-19,000 students sought class improvement. It was then that the varsity decided to give these students a chance too along with the backlog students.

The examination will be an MCQ-based examination. “During the examination for the final-year students, we realized that outstation students opted for online examination. Hence, this time, there will be only an online examination. Those who have a problem with the network, or lack gadgets would be given an opportunity to visit the nearest examination center to appear for the exam in the online mode”, Nitin Karmalkar said.

Meanwhile, Pune University has postponed the Maharashtra SET June exam 2020 for the state of Maharashtra and Goa. The notice released by varsity stated that the dates would be announced soon on the official website. As per the latest reports the exams can be conducted on December 27, 2020.
