University of Hyderabad records highest number of placements despite COVID-19 crisis

The Hyderabad University also mentioned that just before the lockdown was imposed in March, more than 221 students were placed in 132 companies through campus placements.

Despite the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in the country, the University of Hyderabad has recorded the highest number of placements to date. Over 396 students have successfully received placement offers from reputed organisations. 

Coordinated through the campus Placement Guidance Advisory Bureau (PGAB), a total of 396 students have been placed in 213 companies for the year 2020-21.  Students have received offered salaries ranging from Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 17.71 lakh per annum. The Hyderabad University also mentioned that just before the lockdown was imposed in March, more than 221 students were placed in 132 companies through campus placements.

Prof. Salman Abdul Moiz, Professor-in-charge for PGAB, UoH told a media house, “It’s gratifying to note that against the heavy odds such as Covid19 lockdowns, PGAB secured record placements for the 2020-21 batch University students. We are confident that the successfully placed students’ will continue to keep the flag of UoH flying high”.

The batch 2020-21 students have received offers from both reputed organisations in the public and private sectors and in numerous fields. Some of the employers include:

TCS, GE, One Convergence, Deloitte, Dr. Reddy’s , Bridge i2i, Blaize, Techsophy, Phenom People, ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, Elastic Run, Azentio Software Pvt Ltd, UBS, Global Data, Jocata, Cargo flash Ltd, Brane Enterprises Pvt Ltd, Accenture, Mercedes-Benz, Pega System, Cognizant, Team F1, Thought Works, Manthan School, to name a few.

It must be noted that the whole placement session was conducted online. The companies have been conducting video interviews and online assessments as they could not physically visit the university campus.The Placement activities at UoH are coordinated by the PGAB.
