Amid the declining numbers of the novel coronavirus cases in Delhi, the government had last week sought feedback from students, teachers and parents about the reopening of the schools. 

Delhi Schools Reopening: More than 35,000 suggestions have been received by the government of the national capital, Delhi on the issue of reopening of schools in the state. Considering the feedback received from various parents, teachers and guardians, a decision regarding Delhi school reopening been taken soon, confirmed, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on August 2.

Amid the declining numbers of the novel coronavirus cases in Delhi, the government had last week sought feedback from students, teachers and parents about the reopening of schools. Talking about the feedback received from the stakeholders, the minister informed, “So far, 35000 suggestions have been received. Over 12,000 of them were received on day one itself. We will soon take a decision taking the feedback from all stakeholders into account.”

Seeking suggestions, Sisodia during a press briefing on July 28 said, “Over 500,000 parents attended the ongoing parent-teacher meetings in Delhi government schools. During my visit to many of these schools, parents and teachers expressed interest in knowing if educational institutions will reopen anytime soon. They also wanted to know that if schools were to reopen, how we would go about it. Before the government takes any decision on the matter, we want to hear suggestions from parents and teachers on the matter.”

Students, parents and teachers can still mail their suggestions to delhischools21@gmail.com regarding the commencement of school reopening process. Delhi was hit by a brutal second wave of the coronavirus claiming a large number of lives daily with shortage of beds and oxygen worsening the situation. Meanwhile, the University of Delhi has commenced the registration process for various undergraduate programmes from August 2 onwards. Candidates interested in DU Admissions 2021 can apply online at du.ac.in and register for the same. The last date to submit DU Admissions Application Form 2021 is August 31.
