NID DAT 2026 Prelims is being conducted on December 21 in offline mode. Candidates qualifying this stage will be shortlisted for DAT Mains.
NID DAT 2026 Prelims will be conducted tomorrow (Sunday) for admission to BDes and MDes programmes offered by National Institutes of Design (NID). Candidates appearing for this exam should check reporting time mentioned on NID DAT admit card 2026 and carry only items permitted at NID DAT exam centre.
Exam-day instructions have been issued through admit card and official BDes and MDes admission handbooks.
Reporting Time for NID DAT 2026
Candidates must report to allotted NID DAT exam centre as per time printed on admit card. Entry to the venue will be allowed only during the reporting window. Once gates are closed, no candidate will be permitted to enter centre.
Verification of documents and frisking will be conducted before entry into examination hall.
Things to Carry at NID DAT Exam Centre
- Candidates appearing for NID DAT 2026 are required to carry:
- Printed copy of NID DAT 2026 admit card
- One original photo identity proof, such as:
- Aadhaar card
- Passport
- Voter ID
- Driving licence
- PAN card
Photo identity proof must be original and valid. Copies, scanned versions or IDs stored on mobile phones will not be accepted.
Candidates must also carry their own stationery:
- Pencils
- Erasers
- Sharpeners
Answer sheets and drawing sheets will be provided at the exam centre.
Items Not Allowed Inside NID DAT Exam Centre
The following items are not permitted inside NID DAT exam centre:
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or electronic devices
- Bags, purses, wallets, books, notes, or loose papers
- Food items, except where permitted for medical reasons
- No facility will be available at the centre for storing personal belongings.
During NID DAT 2026 Exam
Candidates must follow instructions given by invigilators. Communication with other candidates or sharing of stationery is not permitted. Any violation of exam rules may lead to cancellation of candidature.
