With the UCEED Application 2026 upcoming in the next few months, a poll was conducted by Shiksha among 50+ respondents. The poll shows that most students prefer Product Design as their specialization.
Shiksha Poll: Which Design specialization are you interested in as a career choice?
In a recent poll conducted by Shiksha among UCEED exam aspirants, the top choices for design specialization were revealed. The majority of students showed interest in Product Design, with 43% of the votes.
Product Design was at the top with 43% vote, showing that many students are interested in creating everyday products and innovative solutions. Product Design offers opportunitites in Product technology and Product Desgining. It involves the generation and development of ideas through a systematic process that leads to the creation of innovative products.
Animation Design was the second most preferred, with 25% of votes. This shows a strong interest in storytelling, entertainment, and digital media, especially with the rise of OTT platforms, films, and gaming. It involves creating moving images in the form of 2D and 3D animations.
Communication Design got 16% of the votes. Students interested in this field want to work with visuals, graphics, and messages. It includes areas, like branding, advertising, and UI design, which are important in both print and digital spaces.
Interaction Design was chosen by 14% of students. This field focuses on designing how users interact with digital products, like websites, apps, and devices. Itβs becoming more popular with the rise of tech startups and user-centered design.
Environment Design, with just 2%, had the least interest. This may be due to lesser awareness about the field or fewer career opportunities in comparison to the others.
