The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), along with Pupilfirstorg, has launched GDC Software Engineering Fellowship to identify 40 Indian bright software engineering students for an industry-led training-cum-internship programme. 

Students who complete the training will get a chance to do semester-long remote internship with CoronaSafe/eGov Foundation to contribute open source code to further develop this global digital public good. 

The technical education regulator took to Twitter to announce the same. It tweeted, “AICTE in collaboration with pupilfirstorg has launched GDC Software Engineering Fellowship to identify brightest software engineering students in India for an industry-led training cum internship programme.” 

Who can apply? 

  • The candidate must be a current undergraduate or postgraduate student in any course at a higher education institute in India and within the age group of 18-25 years. 
  • They should have written at least some amount of code themselves before, either on personal projects or college projects. They will learn Python, Django, React and Typescript in the course and no prior knowledge of them is required for fellowship.  

Ten scholarships are reserved for women to promote gender balance in the programme. Interested candidates can apply online at fullstack.gdc.network. The programme will be conducted between January 7, 2022, and April 08, 2022.The last date to apply is December 26, 2021.
