AICTE Opens Doors for Four Year B.Sc (Hons) Graduates to Pursue M.E./M.Tech
AICTE has made 4 year B.Sc graduates eligible for M.E./M.Tech admissions. The detailed discipline specific eligibility mapping of Four-Year B.Sc. program to M.E./M.Tech. courses would be issued shortly before the admission process.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued a notification declaring graduates of the Four-Year B.Sc. (Honours/Honours with Research) degree eligible for admissions in M.E./M.Tech courses. This initiative has been taken to enhance academic mobility and interdisciplinary education. The Council had first analyzed the eligibility conditions of students graduating from the Four-Year B.Sc. undergraduate program pursuing higher education in engineering and technology before formulating the criteria for admission.
AICTE has also informed that discipline specific eligibility mapping of Four-Year B.Sc. program to M.E./M.Tech. courses would be issued shortly before the admission process.
As per the notification issued by AICTE, admissions in M.E./M.Tech. programs would be considered only in those disciplines and specializations which are close to the disciplines where M.Sc. graduates are eligible for admission. Admissions would be in accordance with the discipline specific eligibility criteria as prescribed by AICTE. The candidate must have the required educational background, including prerequisite subjects, if any, prescribed for the course. Institutions may consider other conditions like minimum marks/CGPA, entrance test, GATE score, knowledge of the domain, or bridge course etc. as per the AICTE norms.
