BITSAT 2026: BITS Pilani Offers Admission to 3181 Students; Cutoffs Increased

BITSAT 2026: 3,181 Students Offered Admissions; Cutoffs Rise

BITS Pilani has completed the admission process for the 2026 academic session. As per reports, over three thousand students have secured admission through BITSAT 2026, including its 2+2 programmes. The institute received more than 1.60 lakh unique applications this year, making the 2026 incoming batch roughly the top 2% of the BITSAT applicant pool.

BITS Pilani Admits 3,181 Students Through BITSAT

Of the 3,181 students admitted in 2026, 2,723 are male students and 449 are female students. The number of students admitted through the International Student Admissions (ISA) route also increased this year, with 150 admitted students, compared to143 in the previous year. The United States remained the largest source of international students. The overall admission numbers indicate the highly competitive nature of BITS Pilani admissions, with the incoming batch representing around 2% of the more than 1.60 lakh unique applicants.

BITSAT 2026 Cutoffs Increase for Several Courses

The BITSAT 2026 admission cutoffs increased for several PCM and PCB programmes compared with last year. For PCM programmes, the lowest cutoff increased to 220 marks in 2026, compared with 203 marks in the previous admission cycle. The lowest BITSAT cut-off among BPharm programmes also went up from 151 to 200 marks. For some individual programmes, the increase was also noticeable. The cut-off for Environmental and Sustainability Engineering rose to 208 marks, from 181 last year. The lowest cut-off for MSc Biology increased from 203 to 217 marks. The BE Pharmaceutical Engineering programme recorded a cutoff of 205 marks in the admission cycle.

Full Tuition Support for Top BITSAT Rankers

Financial support has been another major focus of BITS Pilani admission process. The institute introduced tuition-blind admissions for the top 500 BITSAT rankers, subject to the applicable eligibility conditions. BITS Pilani had announced the initiative for students with annual family income of up to Rs 20 lakh. The number of students joining BITS Pilani from among the top 500 BITSAT rankers with full tuition fee support increased by 62.5% compared with last year. The institute also said that 39 students received the Tuition Blind Scholarship, which provides 100% upfront tuition support for all four years. Students receiving the scholarship have to meet the prescribed CGPA requirement.

BITS Pilani Increases Scholarship Support

BITS Pilani also increased the amount of upfront scholarship support offered during the admission cycle. The total upfront scholarship amount for a semester rose to Rs 11.513 crore in 2026, compared with Rs 10.131 crore in 2025. The institute has also increased the annual parental income limit for its Merit-cum-Need (MCN) Scholarship from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
