GATE 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

GATE admit card 2026 is now available at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Candidates who are appearing for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, must download their hall ticket from before the commencement of the exam, and go through the GATE 2026 exam day guidelines

How to download GATE Admit Card at GOAPS portal?

The steps to download the hall ticket from GATE 2026 login portal can be checked below -

  • Visit official website and click on application portal link
  • Enter enrollment ID and password
  • Check details and download hall ticket of GATE 2026

The admit card of GATE 2026 will contain details like registration number, name, signature, roll number, enrollment ID, etc.

GATE 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing for MTech engineering entrance exam must follow all instructions and guidelines issued by the authorities -

  • Candidates must carry a hard copy of the GATE 2026 admit card, along with a valid ID proof
  • Incase, the photo in the ID proof is of low quality, then it advised to carry a recent valid photo ID.
  • For verification purposes, candidates must reach the centre at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam.
  • Candidates will be allowed to login and start reading the instructions 20 minutes before the start of the exam. 
  • A virtual computer will be available on the candidate’s desktop.
  • A scribble pad will be provided inside the exam hall. Students will have to write their name and registration number.
  • Candidates must bring their pen/pen to do rough work.
  • Electronic gadgets such as calculator, bluetooth, or any other personal belongings will not be allowed inside the exam hall.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to leave the exam hall before the end time of exam.
  • PwD candidates are advised to bring their own assistive devices and will be granted one-hour compensatory time to finish their paper.
  • Candidates with any health issues must carry their medications. During the exam, any request of bringing medication is strictly prohibited. 

GATE 2026 Exam Shift Timings

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering will be held in two shifts, and the timings are -

Shift 1

9:30 am to 12:30 pm

Shift 2

2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
