GUJCET 2021: Gujarat Government is mulling to give more weightage to theΒ Β GUJCET 2021Β over Class 12 (Science) for admission to engineering and pharmacy courses. The Gujarat Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has earlier released the GUJCET application form 2021. The application form is available online on the official website gujcet.gseb.org. The last date to fill GUJCET 2021 application form is June 30.

Government decision on Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) over Class 12 (science) for admissions comes after the announcement of the mass promotion of Class 12 students in the state on the basis of their merit-based progression. As per the media report, the education department sources said that it is being planned to give 60 per cent weightage to GUJCET and 40 per cent to Class 12 scores this year. Usually, the merit list for admissions is prepared by giving 40 per cent weightage on GUJCET scores and 60 per cent weightage for Class 12 scores. However, there is no final decision yet. The board has not announced schedule of GUJCET 2021 examination yet. It is expected that GUJCET 2021 will be conducted in August last week.

β€œAt a recent meeting between university vice-chancellors and the state education department, the issue of giving 60% weightage to GUJCET for college admissions was discussed,” Navin Sheth, the vice-chancellor of Gujarat Technological University told an English daily.

The GUJCET 2021 Application process includes online registration, payment of application fee and filling detailed application form. Candidates will also be required to upload scanned images of their passport size coloured photograph and signature while filling the GUJCET application form 2021.
