TheΒ Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) BombayΒ has invited applications for a 12-week free online course on quantum mechanics for students. The programme will be offered throughΒ the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) platform. The course will be conducted from January 24 to April 15, 2022 and the exam will be held on April 24, 2022.Β Β

Β The course will be conducted by P Ramadevi from IIT Bombay whose field of research is mathematical physics. She has also been working on knot invariants from Chern-SimonsΒ theory and topological strings.Β The course is free to enrol and learn from. But if the participant wants a certificate, he/she has to register and write the proctored exam conducted by the institute in person at any of the designated exam centres. The exam is optional for a fee of INR 1,000.Β 

Criteria to get certificateΒ 

The participant will only be eligible for certificate only if he/she meets the required criteria, which is an average assignment score of 10 out of 25, and an average exam score of 30 out of 75. The certificate will have the logos of NPTEL and IIT Bombay. However, only e-certificates will be provided and no hard copies will be dispatched.Β The course will be beneficial for those who have done BTech in engineering physics; BTechΒ  in electrical engineering; MSc in physics or MSc - five-year intergratedΒ  chemistry.Β
