The three days IIT Bombay TechConnect 2024 event will aim to highlight research and development related to societal needs and fulfilling industrial requirements through fundamental research.

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is organising TechConnect 2024 from December 17 to 19, 2024. The event will be organised to foster innovation, technology and excellence of the institute. The three-day occasion will have keynote sessions, exhibitions, and competitions for the participants. The event will also aim to accentuate IITB's research and development achievements to address societal needs, fulfil industry requirements, and contribute significantly to fundamental research. TechConnect 2024 will be inaugurated by Dr Samir V Kamat, Secretary DD (R&D) and Chairman DRDO. 

The event will furthermore include exhibitions, symposiums and ResCon for participants. The exhibition will showcase academic units, working models, demos, and products that underscore technological advancements. The symposiums will include engaging sessions, presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities while the ResCon aims to stimulate engineering curiosity in UG students; workshops and keynote speeches.

IIT Bombay Techconnect 2024: Day-wise Schedule

Day 1 will feature insightful keynote addresses by Rakesh Sharma (India’s first astronaut), Jeet Adani (Director of Adani Airport Holdings Ltd), Dr Samir V Kamat (Chairman of DRDO), Pavan Sukhdev (Environmental Economist and Chief Executive Officer of GIST Impact) and others. 

Further, Day 2 will have interactive sessions with John E. Brian O'Reilly (Lead Scientist at LIGO, Caltech), Dr. Velumani Arokiaswamy (Creator, Thyrocare), Dr K Rajalakshmi Menon (Distinguished Scientist and Director General of Aeronautical Systems at DRDO).

Meanwhile, Day 3 will include sessions from inspirational influential figures like NV Ramana (Former Chief Justice of India), Shukla Bose (Founder of Parikrma Humanity Foundation), and Ananya Birla (Entrepreneur and Singer) among others. During the event, the Unitree G1 humanoid bot from China, and Robo DJ from Japan will also be displayed.
