IIT Guwahati MTech Admission 2026 Starts for Flood and Water Resources Management; GATE Score Not Needed

IIT Guwahati has invited applications for its MTech programme in Flood and Water Resources Management. GATE score is not required to apply for IIT Guwahati MTech in Flood and Water Resources Management. 

IIT Guwahati MTech in Flood and Water Resources Management

IIT Guwahati MTech Admission: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has started applications for second batch of MTech programme in Flood and Water Resources Management. Candidates can apply for IIT Guwahati MTech by July 15 for Flood and Water Resources Management programme.  They can fill out application form at  opadmission.iitg.ac.in/mtechregistration. 

For admission to IIT Guwahati MTech Flood and Water Resources Management, no GATE score is required. Admissions will be done based on written test and/or interview.  Classes for  IIT Guwahati MTech Flood and Water Resources Management will begin on August 10, 2026.

Who can apply for IIT Guwahati MTech Admission in Flood and Water Resources Management?

Candidates must have bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or allied disciplines. They must have also obtained at least 60 per cent marks or a CPI of 6.0 on a 10-point scale. They are also needed to have a minimum of one year of professional experience in water resources sector.

IIT Guwahati MTech in Flood and Water Resources Management

This two-year programme will be held in hybrid mode. Candidates can attend lectures online and participate in laboratory sessions, project work and final exams at IIT Guwahati campus. Online lectures will be recorded and made available to candidates. This course has multiple entry and exit points for convenience of candidates. The duration can be extended up to five years. 

Those completing four courses (2 to 3 trimesters) will be awarded a PG Certificate in Basics in Flood and Water Resources Management. Those who finish seven courses ( 3 to 6 trimesters) will be eligible for a PG Diploma.
