The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati will conduct GATE 2026 exam from Feb 7 (Saturday) onwards. The postgraduate engineering entrance exam will take place on Feb 7, 8, 14, and 15 in two shifts for 30 subject papers. - Visit official website - gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- Click on applicantโs portal and login using credentials
- Download admit card and take printout.
Candidates are advised to keep printout of multiple copies incase, the hall ticket gets tampered with while traveling.ย
GATE Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates appearing for MTech engineering entrance test can check GATE 2026 exam day guidelines below -
- Students must reach the test centre 90 minutes before the commencement of exam.
- Candidates must carry their admit card, along with a valid ID proof, transparent water bottle and pen/pencil for rough work.
- Candidates with any health issue can carry relevant medications
- No electronic gadgets or personal items, such as calculators, bluetooth devices, notebooks, headphones, etc. are allowed inside exam hall.
Candidates whose allotted GATE centre code is 2082
As per the latest update, IIT Guwahati has revised the name and address of GATE centre number 2082. For students with this exam centre code, a new admit card has been issued to them. Candidates can download their hall ticket at GOAPS portal.ย
GATE Facial Recognition 2026
IIT Madras had introduced a mandatory GATE facial recognition process for students who registered under the Madras zone to validate identity. Students had to click on the registration link received on their registered email ID and complete the process. The last date to submit facial recognition was January 30.ย
For now, GATE 2026 facial recognition was made accessible to IIT Madras zone applicants only. However, it is expected that this procedure will be implemented across all IITs in 2027.ย

Candidates appearing for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering must revise the chapters and topics that they have studied. Avoid starting anything new.
