IIT Hyderabad Scholarship: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad provides undergraduate programmes across various disciplines and graduate programmes at the master’s and doctoral levels in different fields. For those pursuing these courses, IIT Hyderabad also offers a range of scholarships for meritorious students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. IIT Hyderabad scholarships for UG and PG programmes are provided in the form of college fee concessions and some others come as direct benefit transfers to the students’ bank accounts.

IIT Hyderabad Scholarships For UG and PG Students

Students can check some of the scholarships provided by IIT Hyderabad at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels:

Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship

The IIT Hyderabad Merit-cum-Means scholarship is for students who belong to the GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC categories. They must note that only those whose parental gross income does not exceed INR 4.5 lakhs can apply for the IIT Hyderabad Merit-cum-Means scholarship.

When applying for the IIT Hyderabad scholarship, they must submit an Income Tax Return (ITR) with an acknowledgement from the IT Department as proof of parental income (Father and Mother or Guardian, if applicable).

The number of students awarded the MCM scholarship is limited to 25% of the class strength. They must have also obtained an SGPA/CGPA of 7.0 or above, with no active backlogs in any subject, including additional ones. All the selected students will get pocket money of INR 1,000 per month.

IIT Hyderabad ST/SC Scholarship

Students belonging to the SC/ST categories can apply for this IIT Hyderabad ST/SC scholarship. Also, only those can apply whose parental gross income does not exceed INR 4.5 lakhs.

To get an IIT Hyderabad ST/SC scholarship, they must also submit an Income Tax Return (ITR) with an acknowledgement from the IT Department as proof of parental income (Father and Mother or Guardian, if applicable). All the finally selected students will get INR 250 as pocket money per month.

They must note that they are eligible to receive only one scholarship at IIT Hyderabad, stipend, or form of financial aid from a single source for a specified period. They cannot get multiple scholarships or financial assistance from various stakeholders (government, private entities, or external agencies) for the same academic year.

Yes, IIT Hyderabad offers multiple scholarships such as MCM Scholarship, Institute SC/ST Scholarship and Institute Free Studentship Scholarship. IIT Hyderabad also accepts scholarships offered by the government/state government. It offers means-cum-merit scholarships to GEN, GEN-EWS/ OBC students and ST/ SC scholarships at the institute level as well. Candidates applying for IIT Hyderabad scholarships can write an email to the Academics office of IITH, whereas candidates who are applying for scholarships offered by the government/ state government have to apply through the National Scholarship Portal.
