IIT Madras invites applications for online course in Data Analytics

Candidates who are interested can apply online for it on or before November 7, 2020.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is now inviting applications for its online course called “Large Scale Data Analytics Driven Systems Design”. The course is being offered through the IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, a technology innovation hub hosted at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and is funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST). The course director is Dr V Kamakoti, senior professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Associate Dean ICSR, IIT Madras.

The course is 50-week long and consists of 300 hours of sessions. The course will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays on alternate weekends. Although the classes will be conducted online, post the COVID-19 pandemic in-person classes will be conducted at IIT Madras for those who wish to take the classes at Chennai. To take the certificate online course on data analytics, a basic level understanding of programming language and database is required.
The course, which is most suited for senior software engineers, module leads, team leads and project managers, will help individuals get knowledge on the end to end hardware and software stack on which the data resides and moves. The course will enable participants to be fully independent in conceptualizing, designing and implementing internet-scale applications of the future, says the IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation website.

Candidates who are interested can apply online for it on or before November 7, 2020. The course will consists of two ungraded assignments, two graded assignments and two exams, which participants need to clear along with 80 per cent attendance to obtain the certificate. The fee of the course is Rs 1,47,500, which can be paid in two installments.
