IIT Madras US-India TRUST Fellowship

Indian Institute of Technology Madras has invited applications for US-India TRUST Fellowship 2026-27. This fellowship offers post-doctoral researchers and early-career faculty members from leading U.S. institutions for a period of 12 months. As per programme details, fellowship will run from August 2026 to July 2027 and place researchers at IIT Madras and other partner institutions. The initiative has been launched through a collaboration involving IIT Madras, U.S. Consulate General Chennai, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Pratiksha Trust and Mazumdar Shaw Philanthropy.

Candidates can submit their applications at IIT Madras Global Engagement portal. Last date to apply is June 30, 2026. Selected fellows will work on projects based on Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Semiconductors, Biotechnology, Defence Technologies, Energy and Space Research.

The fellowship is open to PhD holders, post-doctoral researchers and early-career faculty members from leading U.S. institutions. Preference may be given to U.S citizens who have not previously worked in India. They must submit academic CV and research and teaching plan as part of application.

IIT Madras US-India TRUST Fellowship

Selected fellows will receive monthly stipend, research contingency grant, round-trip airfare, accommodation support, health insurance coverage, visa assistance and on-ground logistical support. Reports indicate that post-doctoral fellows may receive a monthly stipend of approximately USD 1,650 along with research grant of up to USD 2,000.
