IIT Mandi Launches 3 New BTech Courses; Introduces First-Ever BTech in Quantum Science & Engineering
IIT Mandi has added three new BTech courses with a total of 90 new seats this year for JEE Main rank holders. Check details below.
For the upcoming session, IIT Mandi has added 3 new BTech courses. These courses are Quantum Science and Engineering, Agricultural Engineering with Data Analytics, and Chemical Engineering with Data Analytics. These courses have been designed keeping in mind the changing industry needs and give students skills in emerging technologies along with practical learning opportunities.
The admission to all three new BTech courses will be based on JEE Advanced 2026 ranks, and seats will be allotted via the ongoing JoSAA 2026 counselling. JoSAA counselling registration and choice filling will close on June 11.
IIT Mandi's Three New BTech Courses: Number of Seats on Offer
Via the JoSAA 2026 counselling, the following number of seats will be offered in each of the new courses:

About the New Courses
In BTech in Quantum Science and Engineering, students will get to study quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum sensing, materials science, and hardware engineering. The course also includes computer science, mathematics, and artificial intelligence to help students build a strong multidisciplinary foundation.
BTech in Agricultural Engineering with Data Analytics will combine agricultural engineering with modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT), remote sensing, automation, and data analytics.
While in BTech in Chemical Engineering with Data Analytics, students will experience the combination of chemical engineering with areas such as process simulation, computational modelling, machine learning, and data science. In this course, students can choose a minor or even a second major in subjects such as engineering, sciences, humanities, or management alongside their main degree.Β

NO. There will be no spot round of seat allocation at any of the IITs.
Candidates do not need to present a domicile certificate in order to be admitted to IIT, NIT, or IIIT via JEE. The only university where admission is granted based on the Home State Quota is NIT. The state in which you take your 12th board test is used to determine admission, not your home state. When receiving JoSAA counselling, the domicile certificate is not necessary. The JEE score of the applicants determines their admission.
