JEE Advanced 2022 paper 2 analysis by FIITJEE

• Total Marks of Paper 2: 180 & Duration: 3 hrs
• The Paper had (54) questions in total with 18 questions in each subject.
• The Paper had (03) three parts- Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
• Max. Marks for each Part was 60.

In each part there are three sections-

• Sec-I (Max. marks- 24)
• Sec-II (Max. Marks- 24)
• Sec-III (Max. marks- 12)
• Sec-I had (08) Eight questions- with integer type answers, the answer of which was a positive number only.

Marking scheme in this section:

• Full marks: +3 for the correct answer
• Zero Marks: 0 if unattempted
• Negative Marks: -1 in all other cases

Sec-II had (06) Six questions with four options in which ONE OR MORE THAN ONE option(s) were correct. Marking scheme in this section:

• Full marks: +4  If only (all)  the correct options are chosen
• Partial Marks: +3 If all the four options are correct but ONLY three correct options are chosen
• Partial Marks: +2 If three or more options are correct but only two correct options are chosen
• Partial Marks: +1 If two or more options are correct but only one correct option is chosen
• Zero Marks:: 0  If none of the options are chosen
• Negative Marks: -2 In all other cases

Sec-III had (04) Four questions with four options in each in which ONLY ONE of the four options was correct. Marking scheme in this section:

• Full marks: +3 if option chosen is correct
• Zero Marks:: 0 if none of the options are chosen
• Negative Marks: -1 in all other cases

 Paper-2:  Immediate reaction of students: Students found the overall level of paper to be Moderate & Lengthy. Paper-2 was Lengthy & but overall Easier compared to Paper-1 held in the 1st Shift. Chemistry was Easy, Physics & Mathematics was Moderate to Tough Level & Lengthy. Chemistry (Easy). Balanced Section. In Physical Chemistry, there were questions from Electrochemistry, Mole Concept, Surface Chemistry, Thermodynamics & Chemical Kinetics. Organic Chemistry was well distributed with more mixed concept-based questions.  No direct questions in Inorganic Chemistry, there were questions from p-block specially reaction based.

Physics (Moderate & Lengthy) There were more concept based and covered all chapters.  Students reported this section to be Moderate. Questions were asked from Optics, Kinematics, Work Power & Energy, Rotational Motion, Thermodynamics mixed with Surface Tension, Current Electricity, Electrostatics, Magnetism. Mixed concepts questions took more time, so some students found this section lengthy.

Mathematics (Moderately & Lengthy) There were more questions from Calculus & Coordinate Geometry. Questions were mixed concept questions clubbing two chapters asked from Functions & Progressions, Application of Derivatives clubbed with Differential Equation, Circle clubbed with Trigonometry, Vectors clubbed with Matrices, and some direct questions from Hyperbola, Ellipse, Permutation & Combination, Probability, Definite Integration with Inverse of function. Questions had lengthy calculations.

No mistakes reported till now as complete paper is yet to be analysed.

JEE Advanced 2022 paper 2 has ended. With this IIT Bombay successfully conducted JEE Advanced 2022 on August 28.

JEE Advanced Paper 1 Section 1

Section 1 of JEE Advanced 2022 had eight questions of Numerical Based Decimal Type with answers correct to 2 decimal digits. Marking scheme in this section:

• Full marks: +3 for the correct answer
• Zero Marks: 0 in all other cases

JEE Advanced 2022: Paper 1 Marking Scheme For Section 2

Section 1 had six questions with four options in which one or more than one options were correct. Marking scheme:

• Full marks: +4  If only (all)  the correct options are chosen
• Partial Marks: +3 If all the four options are correct but ONLY three correct options are chosen
• Partial Marks: +2 If three or more options are correct but only two correct options are chosen
• Partial Marks: +1 If two or more options are correct but only one correct option is chosen
• Zero Marks:: 0  If none of the options are chosen
• Negative Marks: -2 In all other cases

JEE Advanced Paper 1 Section 3

Section 3 had four questions with each question of match list type -- Match List 1 to List 2, wherein List 1 had four questions to be matched to List 2 which had five options. One or more than one options were correct. Marking scheme:

• Full marks: +3 in case all options are correct
• Zero Marks: 0 if none of the options are chosen
• Negative Marks: -1 In all other cases

JEE Advanced 2022 paper 2 exam has started. The exam will get over at 5:30 pm.

JEE Advanced 2022 paper 2 will start at 2:30 pm and will end at 5:30 pm.

Paper 1 of JEE Advanced 2022 had 54 questions in a total of 180 marks.

  • Negative Marks: -1 In all other cases

Paper-1:   Immediate reaction of students :

• Students found the overall level of paper Moderate to Difficult level but not easy.

• Some students have reported Physics was Moderate, Chemistry was Easy but Maths relatively difficult.

• Chemistry was a balanced section with questions covering chapter of 11th & 12th class equally. In Inorganic Chemistry questions were directly from NCERT. In Physical Chemistry questions covered chapters of Electrochemistry, Chemical Equilibrium, Atomic Structure. Thermodynamics (Kinetic Theory Gases). In Organic Chemistry, questions mostly asked from Amines, Polymers, Biomolecules, Oxygen containing Compounds, some named reactions were also asked.

• Physics. Had more than one question from chapters like Rotational Motion- 3 questions, Thermodynamics-2 questions, Modern Physics-2 questions, Capacitors-2 questions, LC Circuits, Kinematics, Gravitation, Optics, Current Electricity. Overall, this section was moderate compared to the other two subjects as per students.

• Mathematics, was tricky & difficult as per students. There were 2 questions from 3D Geometry. Some tricky questions from Functions, Matrices, Ellipse, Vectors, Probability, Harmonic Progressions, Trigonometric Equations. Some good questions were asked from chapters of Probability, Complex Numbers,3-D Geometry, Conic Sections. Students felt this section was the Toughest.

• No mistakes reported till now as complete paper is yet to be analysed.

• Total no. of questions in Paper-1 were 54 .

• Total Marks of Paper-1 was 180 which is same as last year.

• As the Test was Computer Based students had the option to Clear Response to change any option, they could mark it for Review, Save and next to proceed further.

• Scribble Pads were given to students during the exam for rough work and were taken back after the Exam.

Various institutes will release the JEE Advanced 2022 question paper, answer key and solutions based on the memory of the candidates.

JEE Advanced paper 2 exam will start at 2:30 pm. Candidates should report to the centre at least 1 hour before the exam starts.

Many students have reported that paper 1 of JEE Advanced 2022 was tough. Maths was the toughest section.

• Scribble pad was given at the centres.
• The paper was easier than last year.
• Maths was the toughest and lengthy.
• The total marks were 180.
• There were no single correct questions.
• There were MCQs, Matrix, an integer type questions in the paper.
• There was no negative markings in integer-type questions, Rest questions has negative markings.
• Physics was moderate and chemistry was easiest.

Paper 1 of JEE Advanced 2022 will end at 12 noon and paper 2 will start at 2:30 pm. Candidates must reach the exam centre on time for paper 2.

The counselling process will begin after the announcement of the result. The counselling and seat allotment process will be conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) soon after the announcement of the result.

• The marks obtained by a candidate in Physics in JEE Advanced 2022 will be equal to the marks scored in the Physics part of Paper 1 plus the marks scored in the Physics part of Paper 2. Marks obtained in Chemistry and Mathematics will be calculated in the same way.
• The aggregate marks obtained by a candidate in JEE (Advanced) 2022 will be the sum of the marks awarded to the candidate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

JEE Advanced 2022 answer key will be out on September 3. Candidates will be able to check the memory-based questions and answers after the exam is over today.

JEE Advanced 2022 result will be out on September 11. To check their results, aspirants will need to enter their registration number and password. JEE Advanced 2022 result will include the qualifying status, total and subject-wise scores, and All India Rank (AIR) of candidates. All students must note that the JEE Advanced rank will be as per their total score in papers 1 and 2.

Candidates must note that they must wear clothes that are simple and comfortable. JEE Advanced is a 6-hour-long exam, therefore wear something that is lightweight and breathable.

• Wear open footwear like chappals and sandals
• Wear pants and shirts with fewer or no pockets
• Girls must avoid dupattas. Wear simple Kurtis and jeans/plazos/leggings
• Wear short-sleeved clothes

In case, the computer or mouse of the allotted system in the exam hall malfunctions then the candidate will be immediately allotted another computer system and the time lost due to this will be automatically adjusted in the server so as to give the candidate the full allotted time.

The paper 2 exam of JEE Advanced 2022 will start at 2:30 pm. It is mandatory to appear in both papers of JEE Advanced 2022 to be considered for the IIT admission rank list.

JEE Advanced is being held as an online CBT paper across various centres in India.

This year JEE Advanced is being held in India only. There are no exam centres outside India.

Of the 2.6 lakh candidates who cleared the JEE (Main) exam this year, just about 1.6 lakh have registered for the advanced exam, recording a dropout rate of 38.5%.

JEE Advanced 2022 answer key will be available on September 3. However, the memory based questions and answers will be available today after the exam is over.

JEE Advanced 2022 paper 1 has started. The exam will be of 3 hours durations and will end at 12 noon.

IIT Bombay will soon commence the JEE Advanced 2022 paper 1 exam. The exam will start at 9 am and will end at 12 noon. Thereafter, the paper 2 exam will start at 2:30 pm.

• Reach the exam centre on time. Be there at least 1 hour prior to the exam start time.
• Dress as per the dress code.

• Candidates must not carry any prohibited item with them.
• Carry all important documents with the admit card.
• Cooperate with the exam hall authorities.

More than 1.6 lakh candidates have registered for Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Advanced) 2022. Out of this, about 300 candidates are foreign nationals.

The responses of the candidates who have appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2, recorded during the exam, will be available for viewing, downloading and printing from the JEE advanced portal.

• Mode of the exam: Examination will be conducted ONLY in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
• Number of papers: JEE (Advanced) 2022 will consist of two question papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2 of three hours duration each. Both papers are compulsory.
• Language: English and Hindi
• Total duration: 6 hours
• Marking scheme: The marking schemes change each year. Negative marks may be awarded for incorrect answers to some of the questions. Details of the marking scheme will be provided in the “Instructions to Candidates” section at the time of examination.
• Number of sections: Each question paper will consist of three separate sections, viz., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

Candidates who have yet not downloaded their JEE Advanced admit card can download it from the official website, jeeadv.ac.in.

Candidates can check the steps below to download the JEE Advanced 2022 admit card:

Step 1: Go to the official website,  jeeadv.ac.in.

Step 2: Now look for the JEE Advanced 2022 admit card download link, or visit the JEE Advanced 2022 login.

Step 3: After that, on the open login screen, enter JEE Advanced registration number, date of birth, mobile number.

Step 4: After logging in, click the link to download the JEE Advanced admit card link.

Step 5: Finally, download JEE Advanced exam admit card and print it.

Candidates can check the allotted exam centre address and name on their respective JEE Advanced 2022 admit cards. The centres are open since 7 am and the candidates must reach the centres at least 1 our before each paper starts.

The original valid ID card that the candidates can carry at the exam hall is any one of the following:

• Aadhaar Card
• School/College/Institute ID
• Driving License
• Voter ID
• Passport
• PAN Card
• Notarized Certificate with photograph

Candidates are allowed to carry the below items at the exam hall:

• JEE Advanced 2022 admit card
• Original photo identity card (any one of the following: Aadhaar Card, School/College/Institute ID, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card, Notarized Certificate with photograph)
•  Pens
• Pencils
• Drinking water in a transparent bottle
• Candidate may carry/wear a simple analogue watch
•  Candidates must wear a mask and carry hand sanitiser (up to 50 ml in a transparent bottle)

The minimum marks needed to pass the JEE Advanced 2022 entrance exam for inclusion in the rank list for IIT admissions are:

As per the instructions, candidates must reach the exam centre at least 1 hour before the exam starts. No candidate will be allowed to enter inside exam hall after the gates are closed. JEE Advanced paper 1 will starts at 9 am and the paper 2 will starts at 2:30 pm.

As per the instructions, the candidates must not wear any of these items at the JEE Advanced exam centre:

• Charm/taweez
• Items containing metals such as rings, bracelets, earrings, nose pins, chain/necklaces, pendant, badges, brooch, clothes with big buttons
• They are also advised to wear open footwear like chappals and sandals

Candidates will be able to check JEE Advanced 2022 analysis, memory-based questions, answers, and solutions for the paper 1 exam after 12 noon. The same for paper 2 will be available after 5:30 pm.

IIT Bombay will be holding JEE Advanced 2022 exam today in CBT mode. Candidates are seen to reach the exam centre.
