The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has published the official JEE Advanced 2026 syllabus online at jeeadv.ac.in. Candidates must download the JEE Advanced syllabus pdf to know the topics and chapters that wil be tested in the exam. Students must note that there are no changes to the syllabus compared to the previous year.

The JEE Advanced exam syllabus 2026 is common for both tests. Candidates have to appear for papers 1 and 2 on the same date. Students must prepare for the exam as per the updated syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

What is the JEE Advanced Exam?

JEE Advanced is the exam conducted for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Candidates have to first qualify JEE Mains exam to appear for the JEE Advanced. Only those candidates who are in the top 2.5 lakh candidates in the order of merit of JEE Main can appear in JEE Advanced. It is the gateway to the prestigious IITs and is considered one of the toughest exams in the world.  Every year, around 1.8 lakh candidates take the exam, and 18% qualify on average, making it one of the toughest in the world. Questions in the exam come from class 11 and 12 level Maths, Physics and Chemistry. IIT seats are allotted based on JEE Advanced ranks via the JoSAA counselling.
