JEE Main 2027 Registration: NTA Allows Candidates to Submit Fresh Applications; Check Fee Rules
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allowed candidates who made mistakes while filling out the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application form to submit a fresh application. The agency issued a public notice on October 30, 2026, clarifying that candidates can apply again even if they have already generated an application number or paid the examination fee.
According to the NTA notification, candidates can submit a new application form for Session 1. However, they must remember that a fresh application will be treated as a separate registration. The decision comes after NTA received representations from candidates reporting errors in their online application forms. The latest notification aims to provide candidates with an opportunity to submit a correct application without being restricted by their earlier registration.

JEE Main 2027 Fresh Application: What NTA Says
Here are the important instructions:
- New application number: NTA will generate a new application number for every fresh application form.
- Re-enter all details: Candidates must enter their personal, academic and contact details again.
- Upload documents again: Photographs, signatures and other required documents must be uploaded afresh.
- Previous fee: The examination fee paid against the earlier application will neither be refunded nor adjusted against the fresh application.
JEE Main 2027 Fresh Application Last Date
Candidates must complete their fresh application, including fee payment, within the deadline announced by NTA.
- Without late fee: November 22, 2026, up to 11:50 PM.
- With late fee: November 23 to November 26, 2026, up to 11:50 PM.
Candidates should ensure that the payment is successful and the confirmation page is generated.
Which JEE Main 2027 Application Form Will Be Considered Valid?
NTA has clarified that only the last application form for which the examination fee has been successfully paid and the confirmation page generated will be considered valid.
For example, if a candidate submits a fresh application but does not complete the fee payment or generate the confirmation page, the earlier application, for which both steps were completed, will remain valid.
JEE Main 2027 Correction Window: Candidates Can Also Edit Details
Candidates who only need to modify certain details in their existing application do not necessarily need to submit a fresh form.
NTA has advised such candidates to use the correction facility, which will be available from November 27 to November 29, 2026.
Will Multiple JEE Main Application Numbers Lead to Disqualification?
NTA has reiterated that candidates are allowed only one attempt per session. Submitting multiple application forms does not permit candidates to appear more than once in the examination.
If a candidate appears multiple times using different application numbers, it will be treated as an Unfair Means (UFM) case, and action will be taken as per the Information Bulletin.
However, merely holding multiple application numbers without appearing in the examination using them will not be treated as UFM.
Candidates can contact the NTA Help Desk at 011-40759000 or 011-69227700 or email jeemain@nta.ac.in for further clarification.
