The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Mains 2026 session 1 result. The result has revealed 12 candidates scoring a perfect 100 percentiles. However, in the past four years, this is the lowest number of candidates securing a perfect score in the NTA JEE Mains first attempt exam.

The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam was conducted in 15 cities outside India in Manama, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, Kuwait City, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, West Java, Washington, Munich and Abu Dhabi.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted Paper 1 of JEE Main 2026 Session 1 in 658 Centres in 326 Cities (including 15 cities outside India).

• 160 to 180 marks: (~97.5 to 99) ->  This is a strong score. Admission to core branches (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) in top-tier NITs or CSE in mid-tier NITs and IIITs.
• 100 to 120 marks (~95 percentile) -> Admission to lower-tier NITs/IIITs or non-core branches in mid-tier NITs. This is generally the cutoff range for the General category to qualify for JEE Advanced.

• Significant Jump from Mid-Range to High-Range: A score in the range of 200 is likely to place you in a very strong percentile, like above the 90 or 95 percentile, but moving from a score of, say, 220 to 270 can dramatically increase your rank.
• The Difference is in the Decimals: To move from the 99 percentile to the 99.999 percentile requires scoring in the very top brackets (e.g., above 280-290). In these ranges, you are competing for fractions of a percentile point.
