The candidate will have to upload their live photograph at the time of filling the application form. The last date to apply for JEE Main 2026 registration session 2 is February 25.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2026 session 2 application form. The JEE Main 2026 session 2 registration window is open on the JEE Main official website is jeemain.nta.nic.in. The session 2 registration and application window for JEE Main will be available until February 25, 2026.

The candidates who have registered for JEE Main session 1 (January) can also apply for JEE Main 2026 session 2 exam to be held between April 2 to 9. However, the candidates who will apply for the second attempt will not need to register again, they can login using the session 1 JEE Mains application number and password and pay the session 2 application fee.

With the Session 1 results now declared, candidates looking to improve their scores must register for Session 2 immediately. The registration window for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 closes on February 25. The second session exams are scheduled to take place between April 2 and April 9, 2026.

The NTA has activated multiple direct links for candidates to download their JEE Main 2026 Session 1 scorecards. The NTA has reported a historic turnout for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1. Out of 13.55 lakh registered candidates, over 13.04 lakh appeared for the exam, resulting in a 96.26% attendance rate. The expected cutoff for the general category in JEE Main 2026 is between 93.3 and 95 percentile. Candidates scoring above this range are likely to qualify for JEE Advanced. Cutoff varies based on exam difficulty and number of candidates.

Students scoring above 250 marks usually achieve 99.9 percentile or higher. Such scores give strong chances of admission to top engineering institutes. High marks also ensure eligibility for JEE Advanced.

This normalisation ensures fairness across shifts with different difficulty levels.

Students should note that the JEE Main 2026 score is valid only for the current academic year's admission process. You cannot carry this score forward to next year. If you plan to take a drop year, you must reappear.

 IIT Roorkee has announced that the JEE Advanced 2026 exam will take place on May 17, 2026. Students who score above the expected cutoff (approx. 93+ percentile) in JEE Mains should start Advanced preparation now.

Experts have released an updated JEE Mains 2026 Marks vs. Percentile analysis. To secure a 99 percentile in JEE Main 2026, students generally needed a raw score between 150 and 200 marks, depending on shift difficulty. For a 99.99 percentile, a score of 280-300 was required. For admission to top NITs like Warangal and Surathkal, the stakes are high. Based on JEE Main 2026 results, the expected closing rank for CSE at NIT Surathkal is roughly 5,000 to 5,500, while NIT Warangal is around 4,000 to 4,500. A percentile between 99.8 and 99.9 is usually required for these programmes.

The JEE Main cutoff for the general category has been steadily rising. From 90.7 in 2023 to 93.2 in 2024, and now expected to be around 93.5+ for 2026. This trend indicates the exam is getting more competitive, and students need higher NTA scores each year to qualify for IIT admissions.

To qualify for JEE Advanced 2026, only the top 2.5 lakh candidates will be selected. Based on trends, a "safe score" for General category students is roughly 90 to 125 marks out of 300. This correlates to an expected percentile of roughly 93.3+. If you are above this, start Advanced prep now.

Aspiring for Computer Science at NIT Trichy?

NTA has booked 68 candidates under the Unfair Means case (UFM), and their results have been withheld subsequently. The case will now be reviewed by an expert committee post which the final decision will be taken. The JEE Mains Marks vs. Percentile and Ranks change annually because they are relative measures, not fixed ones. While your raw score (out of 300) stays fixed once the final answer key is out, its "value" in terms of percentile and rank depends on several dynamic factors.

For example, if the paper is easier, more students score higher, raising the "marks bar" for the same percentile. Also, the 100 percentile is always assigned to the highest scorer in a specific shift, regardless of their actual marks.
