The exam body, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) today revised the KCET UGCET 2025 second round seat allotment schedule. As per the revised schedule released by the exam body, the last date for late payment of caution deposit for UGCET exams for courses in engineering, medical, and allied courses is August 26, 2026. Candidates can refer to the official website cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/ugcet2025 as well as shiksha.com to check the revised dates. Students eyeing to take admission into the participating colleges as per the KCET qualification must arrange all the documents and complete the formalities in time to avoid disqualification, as this might be the last phase of the KCET 2025 shortlisting process. 

Q: Β  What is the total number of participating institutes for KCET counselling?
A:

There are around 250 colleges that offer admissions to engineering and architecture courses. There are both morning and evening shifts colleges. Applicants have to fill in the college and course choices at the time of KCET option entry facility. The admissions to architecture colleges will be done on the basis of NATA score 2025 while engineering admissions will be done on KCET 2025 score only. Some of the top colleges for admissions to engineering and architecture courses are given below. 

  • PES University 

  • Ramaiah Institute of Technology 

  • R.V. College of Engineering 

  • Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering 

  • Siddaganga Institute of Technology 

  • KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi 

  • M.V.J. College of Engineering 

  • PDA College of Engineering 

Q: Β  How many rounds of KCET counselling will be held?
A:

KCET UGCET counseling is generally conducted in three grounds. KEA will first release the KCET mock seat allotment result after the conclusion of the choice-filling process. The first two grounds of KCET 2024 counseling will be conducted for birth general merit and Hyderabad Karnataka region candidates. However round 3 or round 2 extended will be conducted as per the availability of seats. Candidates have to complete the KCET counseling registration as per the schedule. Only successfully registered candidates will be allowed to participate in the KCET 2025 extended round counseling.  

Q: Β  How is seat allotment done in KCET counselling?
A:

Karnataka Examinations Authority conducts the KCET counselling in online mode. Applicants have to complete the choice filling and locking after a successful registration. Candidates have to fill preferred choices of colleges and courses at the time of choice filling of KCET counselling 2025. KEA allots seats during the counselling process as per the choices filled by the candidates. After mock allotment, candidates are given chance to change their choice preference. After seat allotment results of KCET, candidates will be provided three options of freeze float and side.
