The wait for admission into professional courses in Karnataka is nearing its end. Following the release of the draft seat matrix, the exam body Karnataka Examinations Authority is expected to activate the online choice filling portal for UGCET 2026 soon. More details shared below.

KEA will activate the web option entry portal for UGCET 2026 soon, ending the wait for over 2.92 lakh eligible rank-holders to proceed towards taking admission into the state of Karnataka. The KCET 2026 counselling calendar is also expected to be released soon along with the KCET choice filling window.
The dates will consist of the mock results, choice locking, and first-round real seat allocations. Candidates are advised to keep track of the official website of KCET - cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea along with shiksha.com for the latest updates.
Meanwhile, candidates who qualified in the exam as per the KCET result can download the necessary physical document verification slip using their personal login credentials. This document contains a unique secret key required to access the preferred choices database.
Meanwhile the Executive Director of KEA, H. Prasanna is also conducting the phone-in session for parents and candidates to resolve their queries. One such session is scheduled for June 16, 2026 from 6 PM at DD Chandana.

Karnataka Examinations Authority conducts KCET UGCET counselling in online mode. Applicants first have to complete the KCET counselling registration followed by choice filling and locking. At the time of counselling registration candidates have to upload certain documents in the candidate portals. A list of documents required to be uploaded at the time of KCET counselling registration are given below.
Copy of KCET application form
Copy of KCET admit card
KCET application fee payment proof
Class 10 mark sheet and certificate
Class 12 PUC mark sheet and certificate
7 years study certificate countersigned by the concerned BEO or DDPI
Recent passport size photography
Income certificate
Rural study certificate
Caste certificate
Kannada medium certificate
Parents' study certificate or Parents Hometown certificate or Parents Domicile certificate or Parents Employment certificate or Parents Cumulative Record or Parents Marks Card, etc. for the candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats based on the domicile or study or employment of the parents
Identity card issued by the Jurisdictional Deputy Commission or District Magistrate or Rehabilitation Commission for the candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats under Jammu & Kashmir Migrants quota.
The KCET counselling fee receipt will consist of the following details -

- Allotted college
- Allotted course
- Course fees
- Receipt number and
- Round number
The KCET Spot ranking results is expected to be announced after round 3 is concluded on the official website - cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.
The counselling is a multi-phase online process which is conducted after the KCET results are declared. During the counselling, candidates must fill in their choice during the web-based option entry, and wait for the online seat allotment result. If they are satisfied by the mock seat allotment results, they can proceed with the admission by paying the fee, if students are not satisfied by their seat allotment results, they can apply for changes and based on their ranks, merit and choices filled, they will get another college/stream.
