With KCET 2026 Round 3 option entry now officially closed, the KEA is set to release the final seat allotment results momentarily, kicking off mandatory college admissions under strict new penalty guidelines.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) closed the web option entry window for KCET 2026 Round 3 Counselling today at 6:00 PM. With choice-filling phase concluded, aspirants are now awaiting for upcoming provisional and final seat allotment results. The seat allotments are expected to be announced soon.

The Round 3 option entry period started on August 31, 2026. It provided students who were not allotted seats in the previous 2 rounds with an opportunity to submit college and course choices. Because choices submitted during the initial counselling rounds were not carried forward.

Unlike first and second rounds, Round 3 is the final counselling cycle, and carries stricter guidelines. Candidates will not have options to select between different choice indicators (Choice 1, 2, 3, or 4).

• Accepting the newly assigned seat is completely mandatory. 

• Students cannot place a seat on hold while evaluating alternative pathways; failure to report triggers total forfeiture of the seat. 

• Anyone who attempts to cancel or forfeit their seat after allocation in this round will be hit with severe financial penalties, which include paying the government-prescribed engineering fee alongside a five-times penalty.
