KEA Confirms Second Chance for Candidates Who Missed UGCET 2026 Option Entry deadline Tells Candidates 'No Need to Panic
KEA has assured UGCET 2026 candidates who missed the June 30 deadline that a second option entry window will open immediately following the mock allotment results allowing both left-out students and new applicants a fair chance to safely submit or alter their college preferences.

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has closed the initial window for option entry and choice filling for admission into professional courses under KCET 2026. Candidates who missed the initial UGCET 2026 choice-filling deadline till June 30, 2026 will get a second chance to enter their preferences after mock seat allotment results are declared.
This comes as a major relief to thousands of engineering, and pharmacy aspirants who couldn't fill their choices till June 30, 2026.

Addressing growing anxiety among students and parents, H. Prasanna, IAS, Executive Director of the Karnataka Examinations Authority, issued a statement clarifying that those students who initially missed out on the deadline are not eliminated from the KCET counselling process.
According to the official tweet posted by KEA on X social media platform, a fresh window to enter options will automatically open immediately following declaration of the first round of mock seat allotment results.

What comes after the KCET choice filling window closes?
The choice-filling portal closed as per its schedule on June 30, 2026. KEA will now process the locked preferences and generate initial mock seat allotment results which will be declared on July 6, 2026. Once those allotments are published, the modified choice-filling window will be activated on the official website cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea.
