KEA Releases 2026 Engineering Surrender Seat Matrix; All 512 Seats Allotted Exclusively to PH Category

KEA has unveiled its 2026 special category seat matrix, revealing a unique allocation where all 512 engineering seats have been designated entirely for students with disabilities.

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released 2026 Engineering Management Surrender Seat Matrix for Special Categories. It has released a seat matrix announcing a total of 512 engineering seats available across 89 participating colleges.All these 512 seats across the state have been allocated to the Person with Disabilities (PH) category. Other prominent special categories including National Cadet Corps (NCC), Sports (SPO), Defence (D), and Scouts & Guides (S-G) received zero seat allocations in this cycle. The vast majority of surrendered seats are within high-demand technology streams like Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science.

While most institutions granted a modest layout of 1 to 5 seats, a few prominent universities lead the allocation chart. Some of these universities are as follows - 

• Sapthagiri NPS University (Bengaluru) tops with a massive allotment of 32 total seats, featuring 25 seats in Computer Science & Engineering and 7 in Data Science.

• Don Bosco Institute of Technology (Bangalore) secures 19 total seats distributed across core computing, Information Science, and Electronics disciplines.

• M V J College of Engineering (Bangalore) 13 seats from sectors like Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Data Science engineering.

KCET Counselling Process

Currently the exam body is conducting the KCET Counselling 2026 process. KEA released round 1 final seat allotment results on July 15, 2026. Choice entry starts July 16 for Engineering. Candidates must select from four choices, pay fees, and download confirmation slips till July 24.
