Two Non-Maharashtra Students Score 100 Percentile in MHT CET 2026

CET Cell made a major change this academic year by limiting the MHT CET 2026 exam centres to only Maharashtra. This decision was made to strengthen the security and integrity of the entrance exam. In the past, there had been reports of irregularities at some out-of-state centres. However, this change did make it difficult for other state students who were aiming for MHT CET as many reported that travelling to Maharashtra for the exam would be financially and mentally challenging.

Commonly asked questions
Q: ย  Which college will I get with 97.5 percentile in MH CET?
A:

With 97.5 percentile in MHT-CET, you have a strong chance to get admission in reputed colleges like PICT Pune, VIT Pune, SPIT Mumbai, or Thakur College of Engineering for branches such as IT, ECE, or Electrical. COEP and VJTI may be difficult for CSE. Government colleges like WCE Sangli, SGGS Nanded, and GCOE Amravati are also good options. You can get preferred branches in private colleges and core branches in government ones. Your chances further improve if you belong to a reserved category or have home university advantage within Maharashtra.

Q: ย  What is the minimum cutoff required for admission to M.Tech at COEP?
A:

For the General HS category, the cutoff ranged from 4.33 to 20.54 percentile for M.Tech course specialisations. Therefore, students need to attain at least 4.33 percentile for admissions at COEP Pune. MHT CET M.Tech percentiles are required for admission to M.Tech courses at COEP, Pune.

Students should note that the above mentioned percentile is only valid for the General HS category in the last round. Other rounds and categories will have different minimum qualifying percentiles. To know more, students can click here

Q: ย  I scored 120 in MHT CET. Which college will I get? I belong to the general category.
A:

With 120 marks in MHT-CET (General category), you are unlikely to get top colleges/branches (like CSE/IT in COEP, VJTI) but can aim for mid-tier private/university-affiliated colleges in less competitive branches.
