MHT CET 2026: Application Fee Likely to Increase; Registrations Expected to Start Soon
According to reports, there will be a hike in the application fee for the MHT CET exams this year. Around 19 CETs that the Maharashtra state CET cell conducts can witness revised application charges. Read more details below.
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) is likely to increase the MHT CET application fee. There can be an increase of Rs 150 to Rs 250, depending on the exam. Until last year, candidates of MHT CET exams paid between INR 500 and INR 1,000, depending on whether the test was conducted on paper or as a computer-based exam. The CETs that are held in pen-and-paper mode have an application fee between INR 500 to 600, while computer-based tests have an application fee of INR 800 to 1,000.
Reports suggest that CET Cell has submitted a proposal to the higher and technical education department for approval to increase the registration charges. CET cell conducts 19 CETs that cover admissions to 73 courses.
This proposal has come after the CET cell has recently announced the MHT CET 2026 exam dates. For the first time MHT CET 2026 exam for engineering and pharmacy admission will be held twice. The MHT CET 2026 exam date for session 1 is April 11 to 19 for the PCM group and April 21 to 26 for the PCB group. MHT CET 2026 exam date for session 2 is from May 14 to 17 for the PCM group and for the PCB group, from May 10 to 11.
Last year, MHT CET registrations started on December 30. It is expected that this year too, the MHT CET 2026 registrations will start by the last week of December 2025, tentatively.
