MHT CET 2026 Poll Results Out: Students Say Physics Is the Toughest Subject, But There's A Catch

According to the poll results, out of the two thousand voters, 52% say Physics is the toughest, making it the most challenging subject for a majority of students. Mathematics came in second with 23% of the votes, while Biology received 17%. Chemistry was considered the easiest by most respondents, with only 8% voting for it as the toughest subject. But the interpretation is not this simple.

Although Physics has received the highest number of votes, the results may also have been affected due to the MHT CET exam groups and subject selection. Students appearing for PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) have Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. However, students can choose either Mathematics or Biology depending on their stream.

Because of this structure, every candidate taking MHT CET must attempt Physics, while Mathematics and Biology are optional depending on the group. This means Physics is faced by all candidates, increasing the chances that more students will vote it as the toughest subject.

Another reason why Physics often feels difficult is that the questions usually require a deeper conceptual understanding, numerical solving, and application of formulas. Experts and students say that topics such as mechanics, electromagnetism and modern physics are usually on the tougher side.

The poll shows that Chemistry is considered the easiest subject by most students. In MHT CET, the Chemistry section is seen as more direct and theory-based, especially in topics like organic chemistry and physical chemistry.

The Shiksha Poll results help students understand the common challenges faced by other aspirants. However, it must be noted that the difficulty levels can vary depending on a student’s preparation and strengths. For MHT CET aspirants, focusing on concept clarity in Physics and regular problem practice can make a big difference.
