MHT CET Scores May Be Used for BBA, BCA, BMS Admissions; Policy Change Under Review
CET Cell is considering a new policy under which the MHT CET PCM/B scores will also be accepted for other courses. Know what this new policy change is and when it will apply.
As per reports, the Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Department is considering a major change in the admission process for undergraduate courses. As per this, the MHT CET scores for PCM and PCB may be accepted for admission to BBA, BCA, and BMS courses. However, this is still under review and an official decision on this is yet to be announced.

As of now, admissions to these courses is done through separate entrance exams. But there is low participation from students due to the introduction of these entrances. As a result, many colleges across Maharashtra have been left with vacant seats. Moreover, there is also a delay in the admission process due to a late counselling process.
If the policy is accepted, then the MHT CET scores might be accepted along with the existing exams. This would mean students will have options to apply for more scores, even in case of low scores in CET or a change of admission decision. Additionally, this will help increase the number of applicants and ensure that seats are not left vacant.
The department may also decide to simplify the admission process by using a single exam, MHT CET, for all courses. This may also show improved enrollment rates if the proposal is implemented.
While the committee is still deciding on this proposal, if accepted, the policy may come into effect from the next academic session.
