The Department of Mathematics at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), Delhi, in collaboration with the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh, inaugurated a short-term course on “Computational Tools and Professional Ethics”. The inaugural session brought together academicians and faculty members, fostering discussions on technical proficiency and ethical practices.
The event began with an insightful address by Prof. K.C. Lachhwani, Convenor of the short-term course from NITTTR, Chandigarh. He outlined the course objectives and underscored the importance of integrating computational tools with professional ethics to meet the evolving demands of academia and industry.
Short-Term Course on Computational Tools & Professional Ethics
This short-term course emphasises the significance of professional ethics alongside the practical applications of essential computational tools. The program covers widely used software such as MATLAB, Lingo, R, and Python, equipping participants with skills crucial for research, data analysis, and problem-solving in modern scientific and engineering fields.
The course seeks to equip participants with the skills needed to navigate the challenges of rapidly advancing technology while upholding a strong ethical foundation. Designed for professionals from academia and industry, it offers valuable learning opportunities to enhance their proficiency in both computational tools and professional ethics.
The session featured Prof. Vijay Gupta, Head of the Department of Mathematics at NSUT and Coordinator of the short-term course, who delivered the welcome address. Other notable attendees included Prof. Sanjeev Thakur, Head of the Department of Chemistry; Dr. Vinod Kumar, Head of the Department of Physics; and Dr. Shivam Kumar Singh and Dr. Sachin Sharma, the course’s co-coordinators. Faculty members and research scholars from various institutions also participated, contributing to the event’s academic discourse and success.
